HAPPY BIRTHDAY RESSA!!

On the 18th Ressa turned 5! Hard to believe that our little bean will be heading off to kindergarten next September. She think being 5 is the coolest thing ever.



On the day of her birthday we did lunch at Chic-fil-A with Nate, picked up the earings and sunglasses she was wanting, made birthday brownies, and had a quick celebration with our friend "uncle Palmer" who was in town. Then it was off to Brad's house for a BBQ.



I know what you are thinking... could we get a bigger candle? I had bought candles at the store, and then left without them so we improvised.



The 22th is Ressa's best friend's birthday. We called her to wish her a happy birthday and to finalize plans for the joint birthday party we were doing at Cheryl's house.

On the 24th we threw a party for the girls. They had picked "icecream" as their theme so we ran with it. I picked up pizzas and made "icecream cone cup cakes". Cheryl picked up a pinata, balloons, and put together an icecream sundea/banana split station for the kids.























I didn't frost the cupcakes. We let the kids decorate their own with frosting and spinkles of all kinds. They had a blast!!





























Cheryl helped the kids make their icecream treats. As expected a few of them got a bit carried away on toppings.





















Luke was the lucky one to break the pinata. He was definatley the most agressive hitter there. Something that was to be expected in a sea of girls!












Eventually party time turned into a snail hunting expedition. Everybody got in on the action!

EASTER!

This Easter seems to have zoomed by. First it snuck up on me and then seemed too short.

I spent the Saturday before making Ressa's Easter dress. She had picked out a cute pink and black fabric the day before at JoAnns. She wanted a dress that had a "spinning skirt like on Hairspray". I think I got that one right. We did a simple princess seamed bodice with a full circle skirt. She loved it so much she didn't take it off all week!! Sorry the picture is blurred... is off my phone. Will have to get a better one.



Cyanne instructed me that this year that she didn't want me to make anything for her. I guess she was under the impression that it wasn't "cool" to have mom make anything. I keep thinking that day will come, and then hope she will realize that sewing is one of the things I am really good at. Here's to hoping!

Around 8pm on Saturday Cyanne changed her mind, but we didn't have any material she wanted to use. I guess she learned her lesson for next year! She said she would actually like me to make her something in the future, and that she would give me some advance notice next time.

We dyed all three dozen eggs Saturday night. The kids and I have WAY too much fun drawing on them and seeing what patterns we can do with the dye. Nate thinks we are silly and doesn't stick around for the full 1 1/2-2 hours that we spend doing it. Rest assured that every member of the family, and just about every friend we have ever known had names on the eggs!!

Easter Sunday it was off to church. Ressa showed off her "spinning" dress to all her friends, and the older ones showed off their still colored fingers from dying eggs. The Easter egg hunt was highly anticipated!!

When we came home the Easter Bunny had placed all the eggs all over the yard. We went out to find the sand buckets he had left with all the goodies in them. We used the sand pails to gather all the eggs. Ammon really got into it this year! First he thought the eggs were balls and threw a couple. Only problem there was that he hated the shells flaking away. He soon caught on to the fact that they would break and was very gentle with the rest.












Foster found the most eggs... 21 in all. He even got one off the garage roof all by himself. He beat Cyanne out by 3. This accomplishment was all he could talk about for the rest of the day.

Nate spent most of the egg hunt bouncing on the trampoline and telling the kids if they were "hot or cold". At one point we thought he might get stuck in the avocado tree he was jumping so high!

AUCTION FOR ROBERT'S TREATMENTS
