Easter Around Here

We had a great Easter... although we didn't really do much. As usual I made dresses for the girls, we dyed way too many eggs, the Easter egg hunt was fun, the kids went down the street to play in the neighbor's play pool, and the rest of the day was spent relaxing while watching movies with our other neighbors. We hope you all had a great day as well!

The swim suits the Easter Bunny brought were a huge success....

Foster our monkey boy found the egg over the hot tub and just climbed right up to get it...

Ammon was far more excited over the squirt gun he threw in the puddle pool we have out back than the eggs, but did enjoy mashing one pink egg... the dogs ate it...

Ressa really went after the eggs and found a record 10 on her own while Cyanne tied with Foster for first place finding 16 eggs each...

The kids actually let us take pictures!

Ammon not cooperating for the walking pics...

Finally he was happy to walk...

Happy St. Patricks Day!!

Well, as usual we pulled out all the stops when it came to St. Patrick's day!

Cyanne and Foster were among the few students that knew what St. Patrick did for Ireland, and two of a very few that dressed up for the day. No face paint today, but LOTS of food coloring!

Ressa started out the day with her green eggs, minus the ham, while Ammon enjoyed his green oatmeal and applesauce very much.

Sometime between breakfast, getting a green mohawk, and getting dressed Ammon became a chipendale in training...

Then we finished up the day with some walking to get the kids at school...

All in all it was a great St. Patrick's Day. Hope you had a great time as well!

When I am old I will drive a sports car...

At least we always joke that when we are old we will drive sports cars. Well, the night before my birthday Nate came in with a key and threw it at me. I looked outside and saw he had rented me a red mustang convertible... his way of hinting that I am old now. Of course I want a lime green one, but red will due for now!

We spent my birthday driving up and down the coast. We went out to the apple store in Costa Mesa via PCH.

On the way back we stopped at Huntington Beach to have lunch out at Ruby's diner (on the pier). Lucky for us there were 20-30 dolphins jumping around playing tag in the water. They were about 40 yards out. Ammon and Ressa enjoyed them so much they almost didn't want to go in and eat. Another plus was the large surf we have been getting. We always have fun watching the surfers.

Then it was back to Long Beach and off to the spa. After my hour at the spa we had a few friends over for dinner, cheesecake, and a quick round of "Scene It". It was a fantastic way to end an incredibly fun day! Really it was the best birthday!

Princess rule#1

Ressa decided to inform us that the number one rule for princess life is:

1. Princesses never fart... they never even have to!

When we asked what they do when they have gassy tummies she said "not fart". She followed that answer with... "only boys fart because they stink".

Walking boy!

1. Ammon took 4 huge steps the other day! He has continued as long as somebody is waiting to catch him at the end of the path. When we aren't waiting for him he uses his handy dandy push toy and wheels all over the house, yard and park when we go. He is not shy about bashing into furniture or running over any people or objects in his way. Crash the kids is becoming his favorite game! He is getting to be a fast little bugger too!
2. We are also excited that he is off bottles and into sippy cups now. He really thinks he is all grown up when he is drinking like the big kids.

3. He is quickly approaching 20 pounds! We weren't thinking that would happen so fast, but at his last weigh-in he was 19 pounds 10 ounces. Not long now till he can turn around in his car seat! That will make us all happy.

Avacados?

Over last weekend we had the missionaries climb the avacado tree in the back yard and see what they could do about the branches over the house. We must have ended up with somewhere between 50 and 100 pounds of avacados!! What to do with all those things...

Cyanne decided she wanted to sell them for profit. She signed on two of the kids down the street and her little brother and sister. They made signs and taped them to a wagon. Then they drug the wagon down the street and set up shop at the corner where there is a 4 way stop. She set the price at $1 each or 3 for $2... They made a killing! $43 to be exact.

She paid everybody for their efforts and is super excited to have WAY more money in her bank than she usually does. She seems to be quite the little business guru.
